Oh that's a hard one. I guess and these are in no particular order:

1) Courtship of Princess Leia
2) The Last Command
3) Enemy Lines 2: Rebel Stand
4) Visions of the Future
5) The Force Unleashed

--------------------
Let's start at the top shall we? The Sith Wars, Palpatine's Empire, Thrawn's siege, Vong invasion, Second Galactic Civil War, I could go on. Point is the enemy hasn't vanished and we're fighting new people/aliens/species every day.

This has always been a Force War and we, as non-Jedi, will still help rid the universe of their evil. That's on one side of the galaxy, on the other our friends: Luke, Han, Leia, Wedge, Iella, Corran, Mirax, etc are still trying to keep the peace. They've thwarted Abeltoth, but others will soon come their way...and ours.

We shall meet these enemies on both sides of the galaxy head on to defeat them. And when we do meet them, it'll be with the same determination, hope, and perseverance all of us have always shown.

None of this is easy as people/aliens/pets/animals are injured or die every day. But to keep the galaxy safe, we'll do all we can to win, for both sides of the galaxy. To ensure peace, we will keep fighting.

Wish us luck, wish us the Force, and pray for us as we'll need it going up against these formidable foes.

(Have been playing SW for over 17yrs--as of 2014--and I also follow the books. I will continue this role playing until I no longer can.) Also I just wanted to thank all who answered my threads and have chatted with me throughout the years; all of you are fun, awesome, caring, friendly, smart, (etc) and are my good/best friends. I will miss talking to you.

Therefore, there must be finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so average population of all planets in Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that population of whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely products of deranged imagination."

Oh, for me:

Top 5

#1 Republic Commando: Hard Contact by Karen Traviss
Superb writing and story with NO film characters what-so-ever. Magic.

#2 The Han Solo Adventures by Brian Daley
Pure SFF from the late, great Brian Daley featuring Han and Chewie (and a droid called Bollux!!)

#3 The Clone Wars: Wild Space by Karen Miller
She's new to Star Wars, but her writing skills are brilliant. Can't wait for her next Star Wars book in 2010.

#4 Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter by Michael Reaves
IMO, Reaves has always been underestimated, but he can tell a really good story. A proper page-turner even when you are consciously aware of what must happen at the end.

#5 I, Jedi by Michael A. Stackpole
I sorely miss Michael's writing skills in Star Wars. IMHO, the only Star Wars author to fully understand space combat, especially when there is no real experience to base it upon. However, I. Jedi isn't about space combat and in this story Stackpole shows he can also develop characters that you can really empathise with.

I completely forgot about the Han Solo Adventures. Excellent storytelling, and much needed background for Han and Chewie. I personally loved Gallandro's description. Han's love interests were interesting too.

Have you read the other books in the Republic Commando series?

Have you read the other books in the Republic Commando series?

I have read the first two, Hard Contact and Triple Zero, but have still to read the last two, True Colors and Order 66 (really looking forward to Order 66). Since the RC books were a series, I dropped reading them until Order 66 was released then re-read HC and am re-reading TZ so that I could read all 4 in sequential order. Probably have to do it all over again when her first Imperial Commando book comes out later this year!

Imperial Commando has been announced!? O.O
That said, I also haven't read Order 66. True Colors isn't as memorable as Triple Zero or Hard Contact, I was disappointed by it.

*Drools at Imperial March. drool.gif *

Knowing Traviss, there'll be plenty of clone angst to go around. smilehuge.gif
And we could all use more of that, couldn't we? (I'm looking at you, Jedi Lovers!)

I just knew it would be 501st, somehow! After all she said they were 'her boys' in the dedication at the beginning of Hard Contact. Though this may be an oblique reference to the 501st Airborne Unit of the US Army.

Just kidding. tounge.gif
