As I'm sure you are aware, running a website like BlueHarvest.net costs money.

At BlueHarvest.net we do things differently. We don't want to do like other websites and make members of the forum pay for special features. (Which imho is unfair, since not everyone can pay, even if they wanted to.) This is why I've been thinking of other ways to earn the dinero to keep this site up and running.

First idea is a BlueHarvest.net t-shirt. Would you pay around $20 for something like this?

Just a rough draft, you understand, but you get the idea. Something Star Warsy and the name of the site. smile.gif

I think the shirt idea is pretty cool, but I think some modifications need to be done to it. blush.gif

--------------------
Let's start at the top shall we? The Sith Wars, Palpatine's Empire, Thrawn's siege, Vong invasion, Second Galactic Civil War, I could go on. Point is the enemy hasn't vanished and we're fighting new people/aliens/species every day.

This has always been a Force War and we, as non-Jedi, will still help rid the universe of their evil. That's on one side of the galaxy, on the other our friends: Luke, Han, Leia, Wedge, Iella, Corran, Mirax, etc are still trying to keep the peace. They've thwarted Abeltoth, but others will soon come their way...and ours.

We shall meet these enemies on both sides of the galaxy head on to defeat them. And when we do meet them, it'll be with the same determination, hope, and perseverance all of us have always shown.

None of this is easy as people/aliens/pets/animals are injured or die every day. But to keep the galaxy safe, we'll do all we can to win, for both sides of the galaxy. To ensure peace, we will keep fighting.

Wish us luck, wish us the Force, and pray for us as we'll need it going up against these formidable foes.

Don't get hung up on the design. I threw that image together in 5 minutes. smilehuge.gif
I'm just raising the question if a t-shirt for around $20 is even worth thinking about.

That t-shirt looks awesome.

I used to be part a parkour forum, back when I wasn't lazy and used to do parkour, and people basically did their own designs of the t-shirt or suggested ideas and it ended up being a compilation of everybody's ideas which turned out really well and everyone was happy with it.

I know there at least a couple of design inclined people on here and those that aren't photoshop savvy could still put up their ideas, even if they're crude caveman drawings (hmm crude caveman star wars stick figure t-shirt with hilarious caption?). smilehuge.gif

A collaboration would be great. w00t.gif Last time I made BlueHarvest.net t-shirts (many years ago) we did that.

Got any ideas for slogans or motif?

Also, it would help if the people who are interested gave me a hint on the size they want. (You're not committing to anything. I just need an estimate on what sizes to print.)

S, M L, XL, XXL or XXXL

FYI: Sizes are european, wich in general are a bit smaller than american.
Like for example: myself, eventhough I usually wear M, I would probably get a L, to be on the safe side.

DM: The shirt does say that we don't shoot... very often. tounge.gif

Size, um i'm gunna say large...but might just end up ordering a medium as well and giving away whichever doesn't fit me.

If I can be...not lazy i might throw together an idea some time tonight.

Just had a random thought whilst posting, what about different designs for guys and gals? (or Babes and Hunks)

Oh and loving the word "Spiffy"

That Leia design is awesome!!! smile.gif

I know it's more cost-effective to do fewer sizes, but I'd be swamped by a large.

I've found a place that prints on good quality shirts. You can mix sizes as much as you like. So I'm just asking to get an idea of which sizes to order more or less of.

The main problem is keeping the overall cost down (seeing how there's shipping to consider as well)... and the way we do that is by printing one motif.
I'm going to look into more motifs as well, because I like the idea... Unfortunately, the companies I've found require a minimum of 20-30 shirts of each motif. Seeing how this is a small forum the market for several motifs simply isn't there I suspect.

I'm also toying with the idea of making cool BlueHarvest.net buttons/pins. It would be a cheaper alternative to buy and we could really go nuts with creative slogans and motifs. cheeky.gif

If anyone has any other suggestions of stuff you'd like I'm all ears. I'd like a BlueHarvest.net mug myself, for the office. I don't think that ceramic mugs would survive in the mail though. confused.gif

That's cool if we could all come up with different things for the t-shirt. I'm usually a medium, so I guess that means I would buy a large. Maybe we could make it different colors too, that'd be cool too. smilesmall.gif
