I do know that this film is from last year and has already been shown in cinemas across the world. But I simply cannot praise this film enough and I urge everyone to watch if you get a chance.

"Oskar is a very lonely overlooked 12-year-old boy living in the Stockholm suburb of Blackeberg in the early 1980s. He is regularly bullied by his classmates and spends his evenings imagining revenge, rehearsing knife attacks on trees near the apartment complex where he lives with his mother. There, he meets Eli, who has recently moved in next door. She is a pale mysterious young girl who seems to be just as lonely as Oscar. Eli initially declines any friendship with the Oskar, but over time, they begin to share their lonely existence together. Eli urges Oscar to stand up for himself and fight back against his bullies.

Oskar may finally have found a friend, ally, and first love. But Eli is no ordinary girl: she must keep her pale skin out of the sunlight, she can perform inhuman physical feats, and she has thirst for blood. brutal murders shock the community and the bodies begin to pile up, but Oskar can't stay away from the girl who has finally given him courage."

If you want and expect an action packed and loud vampire movie with flashy stunts and special effects, this is not for you. Don't be discouraged though. There is a lot of blood and suspense in this film as well, but that's not what the story is about.
This is a tender, bittersweet coming of age and love story that deals with the darker side of humanity.

As written on rottentomatoes.com:
"There are plenty of scares, but it remains moving and intelligent, a rare feat for the genre"

Which pretty much sums it up! msn_yes.gif

I can't wait to see this film smilehuge.gif I read the book about a year ago and absolutely loved it. It's not your typical vampire story but I think that makes the book even better. Even though there aren't many violent parts in the book the ones that are there are very violent. Especially at the end of the book in the swimming pool scared.gif shocked.gif vampire.gif Really looking forward to this one smilehuge.gif
