In ROTS when Anakin is shocked to hear that he is not a master on the council he argue the point that how can you be on the council and not be a master(Even though Ki-Adi was a knight when he got on the council but thats a different topic all together) which Mace say take a seat young skywalker Which he does and Obi Wan gives him a look of dissapointment. What would mace and the council have done if he didn't a slpped backside? your thoughts please wink.gif

I would think maybe they would try to be forceful or point out that this was not their decision and try to understand why they are doing this. Sorry--that's all I can come up with. Good question.

Considering what sticklers for rules and protocols the Jedi Order had become at this point in history, I’m sure that disobeying the Council would be considered a serious offence, punishable by expulsion (that’s probably what happened to Dooku). If Anakin had not backed down (over repeated and ever more stringent orders to do so by Mace Windu), He probably would have been threatened with expulsion. If even that didn’t persuade him, he would be kicked out (perhaps manhandled away from the Council Chamber), straight into the arms of Palpatine.

But I very much doubt that Anakin would let it go so far. He would not turn his back on the Order over such a minor matter, otherwise Palpatine would have ensnared him long before. It took the threat to Padme’s life to turn him.

Well its not like he was going to push the point of him not being a Master to the edge of them kicking him out. After all he was a Jedi Knight. A very powerfull and respected jedi knight. And years of training and tradition have been instealed in him. There is nothign wrong with qrgueing with the council and many Jedi have not seen eye to eye with the council decesions Obi QuiGon and others. and anikin has there example of going againt the council or not always agreeing with the council on matters. But there comes a point where a decesion is finial and as a Jedi you give way to that decesion at least for the time.

Besides unlike the confrentation in Palpatines office Anikin had not yet been pushed to a point where he would betray all that just over a rank. Adn to further push the point in a heated arguement would have only shown Anikin truly didnt deserve to be in such a position.

that would cause for banishment possible. of course i think someone meet defend him though like the Chancellor. Remember he needs Anakin.

Regarding that statement about Dooku, just for clarification, he left the Jedi Order by choice because he felt the Council was responsible for the death of his pupil and long-time apprentice Qui Gon Jinn.
